The Census.

The Census is a snapshot taken every ten years, while the ACS is an ongoing video diary, capturing how our lives and needs change. Together, they tell the full story of who we are and what we need to thrive as Alabamians.

Why this matters.

The American Community Survey (ACS): The ACS is a yearly survey that gathers detailed information about our communities, covering things like education, jobs, and housing. This data helps local governments, businesses, and nonprofits understand what our communities need and how to plan for the future.

The Census: Every 10 years, the Census counts every person living in the U.S. This count is used to figure out political representation, distribute funding for public services, and make important decisions that impact your community.
